![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I really want to go to this school and I am very passionate about Virginia Tech). 71 percent of the schools admitted 10 percent or less of the students accepting a place on the wait list last year. (Also, sorry if this sounds super desperate. Our sample of waitlist statistics from 138 private and public institutions paints the following picture: On average, 11 percent of students accepting a place on a waitlist were admitted. Should I just give up and try attend somewhere else or have hope?Īny feedback would be greatly appreciated. Although last year the college accepted way too many students and took zero people off the wait list. There were 3,500 kids put on the wait list this year and I can only imagine what that number is now due to other kids withdrawing their applications. I have made it clear to admissions that I would do anything to attend Virginia Tech in the fall. I have plenty of extracurricular activities including soccer and other sports and working after school. Also, both of my parents are legacy at Virginia Tech. I have gotten great grades my last two years of high school, and have taken classes at my local community college for credits and to prove that I can do well in a college setting like Virginia Tech. Although these are quite low for Virginia Tech's standards, I really wanted them to notice my upward trend in grades during my junior and senior years. With the D's on my transcript it has left me with a 3.5 GPA and I have a 1080 SAT score. On the chance that you get off of the waitlist and choose to enroll in that school. Get a sense of your chances of admission. Unfortunately, I had a slip up during my freshman and sophomore years in high school and being the idiot that I am, I got a couple D's on my transcript. Getting placed on a colleges waitlist is not the end of the world. I was put on the wait list for the class of 2020, and was looking for some advice from fellow Hokies in hopes of cheering me up. Virginia Tech has been my dream school since the day I was born and I don't see myself at any other college. I am a high school senior that applied to Virginia Tech back in October of 2015. ![]()
